How to reboot Vion IMS QTof

ENVIRONMENT

• Vion IMS QTof
• UNIFI

PROCEDURE

1. Shut down the UNIFI workstation, close other software on the computer, and turn off the computer.

2. Locate the two silver buttons in the lower groove of the rear panel of the mass spectrometer. The upper button controls the vacuum state, and the lower button is the circuit switch. Toggle the upper button (vacuum button) from auto position to override position. You need to lift it slightly when doing so. Turn the lower button (circuit button) to the down position. Toggle the lower button (circuit switch) to the down position.

3. Shut down all the LC modules.

4. Wait 5 minutes.

5. Turn on the computer and log on to the Windows desktop. Wait for 5 minutes.

6. Power on all the LC modules.

7. Toggle the lower button (circuit switch) back to the up position.

8. Wait 3 minutes.

9. Open the UNIFI workstation on the computer and wait it to start up.

10. Enter the instrument control interface to confirm that the communication is OK. Toggle the upper button (vacuum button) back to auto position. Now the reboot process is done.
