How to reboot Xevo G2-S/XS - WKB209062

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Reboot a Xevo G2-S/XS.

ENVIRONMENT

• Xevo G2-S
• Xevo G2-XS
• MassLynx
• UNIFI

PROCEDURE

1. Locate the two silver buttons in the lower groove of the rear panel of the mass spectrometer. The upper button controls the vacuum state, and the lower button is the circuit switch. Toggle the upper button (vacuum button) from auto position to override position. You must lift it slightly when doing so.
2. Shut down the MassLynx or UNIFI workstation, and close other software on the computer.
3. Toggle the lower button (circuit switch) to the down position.
4. Shut down all the LC modules. Shut down the computer.
5. Wait 5 minutes.
6. Turn on the computer and log on to the Windows desktop. Do not open the MassLynx or UNIFI workstation yet.
7. Wait 5 minutes.
8. Power-on all the LC modules.
9. Toggle the lower button (circuit switch) back to the up position.
10. Wait 3 minutes.
11. Open the MassLynx workstation on the computer and wait for it to start up. After the startup process is completed, "Not Scanning" should appear in the lower-right corner of the status bar of the MassLynx main window.
12. Toggle the upper button (vacuum button) back to the auto position. The reboot process is done.
