SYMPTOMS

CAUSE

Solvent buildup in the exhaust line between the instrument and the trap bottle

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Drain the solvent from the exhaust line.
2. Position the exhaust lines so that solvent cannot collect at any low points.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Keep the exhaust lines as short and as straight as possible. If the exhaust tubing from the trap bottle to the exhaust system is too long and bends too much, the pull from the exhaust may not be enough to prevent solvent buildup in the exhaust tubes.
