The oil trap is full on the Vacuubrand pump connected to the QDa - WKB1785

SYMPTOMS

• The oil trap on the external roughing pump (perfomance only) is full.

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector

CAUSE

The pump doesn't return oil to the reservoir, the operator must do it manually.  Pump left in Ballast mode can cause reservoir to fill with oil.  

To avoid damaging the pump, do not leave it constantly in ballast mode. Doing so can run the pump dry and fill the trap bottle and exhaust lines with oil.

To prevent the pump failing to start, do not power-on the QDa Detector when the backing pump is in ballast mode.  See Section 3.17 in the ACQUITY QDa Detector Overview and Maintenance Guide (715003956)
