How to do an electronic reboot of Xevo G2-XS, Xevo G3 or Vion in UNIFI or waters_connect - WKB16271

Article number: 16271

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Do an electronics reboot

ENVIRONMENT

  • UNIFI
  • waters_connect
  • Xevo G3
  • Xevo G2-XS
  • Vion

PROCEDURE

  1. Do not exit UNIFI or waters_connect.
  2. Ensure that the pump control toggle switch at the back of the instrument (top switch), is in pump override position (down). This prevents the instrument from crash venting when the power is recycled on the MS instrument.
  3. Switch the MS electronics toggle switch (bottom switch) to off position (down) for 30 seconds, and then set it back to the on position (up).
  4. Wait for communication to be reestablished. NOTE: The process can take at least five minutes.
  5. Check the vacuum in the instrument system console (MS module > Maintain > Vacuum). Confirm that you have real vacuum readings (e.g., not 1e-8 mbar for the TOF vacuum). If you don’t see a real TOF vacuum reading, start the reboot over again.
  6. Once you have good communication (vacuum readings are normal and fluctuating slightly), flip the pump control toggle switch (top switch) back to the auto position (up).
  7. Put the MS into Operate mode.
