Fluidics pump makes a clicking noise - WKB1376

Article number: 1376

SYMPTOMS

  • Clicking noise when syringe pump is flowing
    • Both the sample and reference fluidics syringe pumps can be troubleshot with this methodology
  • Typically, no signal appears on tune page
  • Disconnecting the black tubing (fluidics-reference probe) from the source side, doesn't stop the noise.
  • Disconnecting the tubing from the fluidics makes the noise disappear.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Tof systems with integrated fluidics
  • Universal LockSpray source

CAUSE

The clicking noise occurs when there is some kind of blockage in the fluidics line downstream of the syringe pump.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. With fluidics flowing, start with the furthest connection from the syring pump and disconnect the tubing to the inlet on the source.
  2. Work backwards, breaking fluidics connection until the click noise stops
  3. Replace the length of the black PEEK tubing (700003799causing the blockage.
