Fluidics pump makes a clicking noise - WKB1376
Article number: 1376
SYMPTOMS
- Clicking noise when syringe pump is flowing
- Both the sample and reference fluidics syringe pumps can be troubleshot with this methodology
- Typically, no signal appears on tune page
- Disconnecting the black tubing (fluidics-reference probe) from the source side, doesn't stop the noise.
- Disconnecting the tubing from the fluidics makes the noise disappear.
ENVIRONMENT
- Tof systems with integrated fluidics
- Universal LockSpray source

CAUSE
The clicking noise occurs when there is some kind of blockage in the fluidics line downstream of the syringe pump.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- With fluidics flowing, start with the furthest connection from the syring pump and disconnect the tubing to the inlet on the source.
- Work backwards, breaking fluidics connection until the click noise stops
- Replace the length of the black PEEK tubing (700003799) causing the blockage.
