Communication error between the ACQUITY PDA detector and the ACQUITY MS Console - WKB13238

SYMPTOMS

• PDA Detector Communication Failure error in the ACQUITY MS Console
• Rebooting PDA Detector does not resolve
• Found: Status LEDs on PDA are both green
• Found: OK and Ready LEDs in the MassLynx Inlet Method Status are both green
• Found: When rebooting PDA, lack of beeping indicates hardware error
• Found: Resetting the IP addresses in the the Waters DHCP Server Configuration does not resolve

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY H-Class System
• ACQUITY PDA Detector
• ACQUITY QDa Detector
• MassLynx 4.1 SCN 947

CAUSE

Antivirus software is interfering with communication between the ACQUITY MS Console and the ACQUITY PDA Detector.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Remove antivirus software.
2. Reboot the system.
