- Source pressure test fails with the message 'check source and exhaust seals' on Vion IMS QTof
- Source Pressure too low
- Hissing sound from the trap bottle

CAUSE
Blocked, broken or faulty John Guest check valve at the Waste Trap Bottle.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Open the instrument's source enclosure.
- Remove John Guest check valve from the Waste Trap Bottle assembly, taking note of the arrow position.
- Shake the John Guest check valve. Ensure that you hear a ball moving inside the check valve.
- In some cases, sonicating the John Guest check valve in 50:50 Methanol/Water for a few minutes can resolve the issue.
- Refit the check valve with the arrow pointing down, close source enclosure, and carry out source pressure test.
- Replace John Guest check valve if needed (part number: 6063338).
