ENVIRONMENT

CAUSE

The ion source enclosure is not saturated with mobile phase adducts, a condition that impedes ionization.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. The source enclosure requires passivation with mobile phase additives.
2. Set the high flow from UPLC with initial gradient composition for a minimum of 30 minutes to passivate the source enclosure. API and collision gas must be ON.
