Audible gas leak on ACQUITY QDa or RDA - WKB120623

SYMPTOMS

• Intermittent, audible gas leak
• Unusually high nitrogen consumption

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector (KAD, KBD)
• BioAccord System
• ACQUITY RDa Detector

CAUSE

The seals in the internal pinch valve assembly have failed.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Replace the internal pinch valve assembly (700011173).

If the pinch valve seals continue to fail regularly due to customer solvent selection consider fitting 700011623 - Pinch Valve Assembly, Internal (Extended Solvent)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Leak can be seen when the pinch valve area is investigated with a bubbling leak checker.
