ESI capillary fell out - WKB1065

SYMPTOMS

  • The capillary is visibly protruding from the ESI probe by more than 1 cm.

CAUSE

The capillary is dislodged from the union in the ESI probe.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Rebuild the probe by following the steps on page 175 of the Xevo G2-XS QTof Overview and Maintenance Guide

The procedure is the same for all instruments mentioned in the environment section above. For quadrupole instruments, ignore any reference to the LockSpray.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The probe may need to be rebuilt for other reasons, such as blockages or a bent probe tip. The same procedure applies.
