Article number: 97203

SYMPTOMS

  • In a DP2019R1 environment, some items do not display properly when editing the FTN instrument method
  • When viewing an existing instrument method that contains an H-Class or I-Class FTN module, the following parameter values on the General tab display default values instead of saved values
    • Alarm Bands
    • Loop Offline
    • Load Ahead
    • Active Preheater
    • Comments
  • When retrieving the data, the software uses the values stored in the saved methods

ENVIRONMENT

  • DP2019R1 ACQUITY UPLC FTN
  • ACQUITY UPLC PLUS FTN
  • ACQUITY UPLC Advanced Polymer Chromatography FTN
  • Empower
  • MassLynx
  • Third-party CDS

CAUSE

This is a known issue reported as CRI-908. It was fixed in Waters Driver Pack 2019 Release 2 SR1.

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Make sure the parameter values listed above are correct when viewing and closing the General tab for FTN instrument methods.
  2. To save the correct parameter values, click Yes in the Save dialog box that appears.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Note: If you open and close the General tab, the Save dialog box appears, even if you want to view it without changing the instrument method.
Recommendations:

  • When you open an instrument method to see the parameter value, do not save the method, even if the Save dialog box appears.
  • If you change one of the parameter values listed above, make sure the value is correct before saving the method.
  • To get a record of parameter values, print a report on the instrument method.
