Preheater temperature range error (temperature figure) - WKB95640

SYMPTOMS

• Preheater temperature range error when running samples with a temperature in brackets.
• Numerous preheaters configured, but no detected errors in the log.
• Active preheater is set to active and produces an error on injection.
• Randomly, an injection increases/decreases from set point and on next injection, produces an error, but temperature returns to set point.

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Column Heater
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS Bio
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class PLUS

CAUSE

Active preheater.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace active preheater and set temperature.
2. Run an injection to ensure that the system is working on injection.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Also replace Clip, Retainer (# 700010511) if needed.

If issue persists, active preheater PCB (700005509) is likely the cause.

Active preheater part numbers are 205000756, 205000775, and 205000777 for H-Class Bio systems that are not PLUS systems.
