Instrument failure, no data with Ethernet devices - WKB937

SYMPTOMS

• "Instrument failure" in message center
• Run Samples displays no data, no baseline when monitored
• Node properties display status as "yes" and all components reply to ping
• Same symptoms with new Project and Method

ENVIRONMENT

• 2414 Refractive Index Detector
• 2707 Sample Manager
• 1515 Isocratic HPLC Pump
• Breeze 2
• Empower

CAUSE

The 2414 detector has the [Inject] setting on its Configuration screen set to "Low" instead of "Ignore".

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. On the 2414, access the Configure key by pressing "Shift and Diag".
2. On the first of the three configuration screens under Inject, choose "Ignore" by using the arrow, and then tap Enter.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 No event start cable is required for this setup because all instruments are controlled by Ethernet.
