Reproducibility is poor on ACQUITY APC system - WKB93601

SYMPTOMS

• Baseline not stable on RI trace
• RT change

ENVIRONMENT

CAUSE

p-ISM fails dynamic leak test. Leak found on primary and/or accumulator pump.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Flush system with solvent to clear out current solvent. (Use organic solvent to remove organic, water to remove buffer solvents.)
2. Wet prime the pump with MeOH.
3. Rebuild the pump and replace seals and check valves. Replace any damaged seal wash housing or pump head.
4. Wet prime the system with MeOH.
5. Put pressure (over 10,000 psi) on new seals for 15 minutes.
6. Run the dynamic leak test.
7. Run the needle readiness test.
8. Run the dynamic leak test. Endpoint column.
