Leak from the ACQUITY APC column OUT side - WKB87729

SYMPTOMS

• Leak from the OUT side of the last column
• There is no indication that the any tube after the column is clogged and the pressure is increasing.
• The OUT side of the column is integrated ferrule screw (black), and tube does not go beyond the ferrule

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY APC

CAUSE

The hole at the tip of the ferrule is small because it’s tightened securely with the tip of the tube not protruding from the ferrule screw, so it does not penetrate

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the ferrule screws. This ferrule screw is not for APC and can be replaced with similar parts that is attached before and after other tubes
2. If Solution 1 does not help, attach the tube into the column so the tube sufficiently protrudes from the tip of the ferrule screw, and then tighten.
