HPLC chromatogram has a lower peak area value than before - WKB86274

Article number: 86274

SYMPTOMS

  • Measurement was performed using 2695/2489/2475. Only the chromatogram from 2489 had a smaller peak area value than before (the peak area value from 2475 was the same as before)
  • The peak area value from 2489 is about 1/3-1/4 of the previous
  • Two components are measured, both areas are low at a same level
  • Retention time and peak shape are the same as before
  • 2489 lamp hours is 1000 hours

ENVIRONMENT

  • 2487 Dual-Wavelength Absorbance Detector
  • 2489 UV/Vis Detector
  • 2475 Multi-Wavelength Fluorescence Detector
  • 2695 Alliance Separations Module

CAUSE

  • Poor sensitivity
  • Dirty system

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Perform the system cleaning
  2. Perform the manual calibration
  3. After equilibration with the initial composition of the measurement conditions, restart the detector
