ACQUITY RI noisy baseline - WKB83098

SYMPTOMS

• During SQT, baseline is wavy. Noise and drift test pass, but peak integration is not consistent.
• The diluent peak is showing as a positive peak instead of the usual negative peak.
• Occurring in both standard and samples.

ENVIRONMENT

• 2414 Refractive Index Detector
• ACQUITY UPLC RI Detector

CAUSE

Dirty flow cell.    

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Purge detector with 30% phosphoric acid, followed by water.
