ACQUITY TUV control panel is missing from Empower Run Samples - WKB81415

SYMPTOMS

• ACQUITY TUV control panel is missing from Run Samples
• There are two UPLC systems with TUVs on the acquisition PC, and both are exhibiting the same issue
• When setting up a sample set, system idle-instrument failure and setup failed messages appear
• The TUV control panel is the only one missing
• The TUV is present in the console
• Both TUV detectors say OK? NO in Empower node properties

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3
• ACQUITY UPLC
• ACQUITY UPLC Tunable UV (TUV) Detector 

CAUSE

Communication failure with both TUV detectors

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Close Run Samples.
2. Delete instruments from DHCP.
3. Close Empower.
4. Power-down both the acquisition PC and UPLC instruments.
5. Turn on the acquisition PC, followed by the instrument components.
6. Log in to Empower and confirm that all IPs repopulated in DHCP and that both TUV instruments say OK? YES.
7. Open Run Samples and verify that the TUV control panel is there.
