SYMPTOMS

An established 6850 GC system is not communicating with Empower
Unable to ping the IP address
No changes were made to the GC's firmware, LAN settings, or configuration on the front panel of the 6850
Other Ethernet-controlled instruments (including other GCs) connected to the LAC/E are not having communication issues
Rebooting and reconfiguring LAN settings does not resolve the issue

CAUSE

Bad Ethernet cable

FIX or WORKAROUND
