SYMPTOMS

• Error "Z-Axis Not Calibrated" after needle seal calibration         

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC

CAUSE

1. Needle seal is too tight, preventing needle penetration. 
2. Needle seal is loose (sample pressure low error but syringes are filled with wash solvent).

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Loosen the needle seal.
2. Tighten the needle seal.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

If you are not able to tighten the seal by hand, use a flat screwdriver to tighten it further.

Test the seal penetration with the old needle. A little resistance is necessary.
