SYMPTOMS
- Unable to control 2695 Alliance HPLC system in Run Samples, including setting the flow rate
- Communication issue occurred after power surge
- The two 2695 Alliance HPLC systems with 2996 and 2424 all say OK? NO in node properties
- IEEE busLAC/E status is booted OK
- 2424 cannot ping successfully; request timed out
- Instrument LAN card provides a reply when pinged
ENVIRONMENT
- Empower
- Alliance Separations Module 2695
- 2996 PDA detector
- 2424 ELS detector
CAUSE
Communication issue
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Remove the 2424 IP address from DHCP.
- Turn instruments and PC off.
- Turn on IEEE connected devices (2695, 2996).
- Turn on PC and log in to Windows.
- Turn on Ethernet connected device (2424).
- Log in to Empower.
- Confirm that instruments say OK? YES in node properties.
- Launch Run Samples.
