"Pump h/w Overpressure" error ACQUITY Systems - WKB60838

SYMPTOMS

• "Pump h/w Overpressure" error when flow is to column
• Error does not return when system is placed in bypass
• Error does not return when pump outlet tubing is removed from the Sample Manager-FTN
• Error does not return when column outlet tubing is removed from the Sample Manager-FTN
• When flow is started, pressure rises until HW overpressure occurs
• Pressure is OK when the APH is disconnected from the inject valve (pod)

CAUSE

Clog in the APH (Active Preheater) tubing

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the APH.
   • I-Class APH part 205000894 - ACQ. I-Class APH, SS, 12.5 LG, .003 ID
   • H-Class APH part 205001774 - APH, SS, 12.5-in
   • H-Class APH part 205000730 - ACQUITY UPLC APH SS 12.5LG (old style)
   • I-Class Premier APH part 205002234 - ACQUITY APH, 12.5" HPS

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

It is possible to backflush the APH by gradually increasing flow, but it can be difficult.
