Cannot see solvent moving through seal wash lines on an ACQUITY UPLC Binary Solvent Manager - WKB58273

SYMPTOMS

• System was off for more than 30 days
• Cannot see solvent moving through seal wash lines
• Priming seal wash does not resolve the issue

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Binary Solvent Manager

CAUSE

The solvent line from the reservoir to the seal wash pump is likely empty.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Dry prime the seal wash solvent line:

1. Verify that there is solvent in the seal wash reservoir.
2. Disconnect the solvent supply line from the seal wash pump.
3. Connect a large syringe to the seal wash supply line.
4. Draw solvent into the syringe.
5. Remove the syringe and reconnect the supply line to the seal wash pump.
6. Prime the seal wash pump from the ACQUITY Console.
