ACQUITY UPLC H-Class peaks have unexpected retention time during gradient run - WKB57425
Article number: 57425
SYMPTOMS
- Significant retention time shift when using lines A&B compared with using lines C&D, for the same method and mobile phases on QSM.
- A&B gradient profile differ from C&D gradient profile, although same samples, method conditions and mobile phases are used.
- Peaks elute too early during gradient run.
- Peaks shift in retention time with consecutive injections of the same sample regardless of using A&B or C&D lines.
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager (QSM)
CAUSE
Clogged or bad GPV inline filter(s)
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Replace the GPV filters, part number 700005173 - ACQUITY H-Class QSM GPV Filters, (4PK)
- Prime the lines and inspect for leaks
- Check the retention time is back to normal using the customers own system suitably testing
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the GPV filter replacement procedure, see the ACQUITY UPLC Quaternary Solvent Manager Overview and Maintenance Guide (715005050).
