With CM-A and CM-Aux in Advanced mode, column shutdown in method shuts down column positions only in the CM-A - WKB5332

SYMPTOMS

• Shutdown using the "Shutdown All Columns" check box shuts down column positions only in the CM-A; configured CM-Aux modules do not shut down

• Changing the programmed column temperature to "off" does not shut down CM-Aux column positions

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY H-Class Column Manager - Active

• ACQUITY I-Class Column Manager - Active

• ACQUITY UPLC Systems with 2D Technology

CAUSE

• Advanced mode turns off column shutdown functionality when comparing column select mode.
• The CM-Aux is not supported in the advanced mode of operation.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Change the programmed temperature of the column positions to room temperature.
2. Ensure that temperature preferences are programmed so that method temperature is applied to all column positions.

When running the shutdown method with a temperature programmed at room temperature, this temperature is applied to the column positions in the CM-Aux.
