ACQUITY UPLC BSM/QSM fails dynamic leak test on one pump only - WKB52832

SYMPTOMS

• Pump fails dynamic leak test even after rebuilding

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager (QSM)

CAUSE

1. Pump head, seal wash housing worn/etched; SS tube from pump head to transducer leaks
2. Failed vent valve

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace the pump head, the seal wash housing, and the tubing that runs from the pump head to the transducer.
   • Pump head: 700002595
   • Seal wash housing: 700002597
   • Assy, tube, head to transducer: 430001120
2. Replace the vent valve cartridge (700002660).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Determine if the pump to vent valve tubing is the cause by plugging at the vent valve end during leak test, after filling heads.
