Loose needle latch on ACQUITY H-Class Sample Manager - WKB50174

SYMPTOMS

• Seal Force Sensor H/W Fault (0.0)
• Needle/Seal Move Limit Exceeded (5.0)
• Zp-axis home h/w fault
• Needle is loose from the needle carriage and bent/damaged

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY H-Class Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN)

CAUSE

The latch on the needle carriage is loose; it rotates easily in either direction.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Tighten the screw fitting located in the center of the needle carriage needle latch.
2. Return the needle to the correct position.
3. Perform needle Z-axis calibration, characterize needle seal, and needle seal leak test as appropriate.
