ANSWER
After installing the new Instrument Control Software (ICS), Autoloader runs automatically. This utility scans the instruments connected to the node that just had the new ICS installed and checks to ensure that the firmware on the instruments is compatible with the new ICS. If it is not, Autoloader lists the instruments that need to have their firmware upgraded, and then proceeds with the upgrades after prompting the user for permission to do so.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Autoloader.xml is a dynamic XML used by the autoloader. It can be updated by the companion service or when drives are installed or removed.
