2414 internal temperature can't be set to 55 ℃ via Empower due to recognized as 410 rather than W2414 - WKB48434

SYMPTOMS

• The internal temperature of a 2414 Refractive Index Detector controlled by Empower can not be set to 55 ℃ by the software.
• The software should be able to set the internal temperature to 55 ℃ according to 2414 instrument manual.

ENVIRONMENT

• 2414
• Empower 3
• Driver Pack 2016 Release 1 or later not installed.

CAUSE

Empower recognizes the 2414 as in 410 mode. In this mode, the lower and upper limit of internal temperature setting is 30 and 50 ℃, respectively. So the highest temperature that can be set is only 50 ℃.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Download Driver Pack 2016 Release 1 or later.
2. Update 2414 firmware to 2.10 or higher.
3. Update 2414 drivers to 1.65 or higher.
4. Empower recognizes the refractive index detector as W2414, thus there will be no more temperature control problems.
