Error: Auto exposure time too low - WKB47507

SYMPTOMS

• While the system is acquiring data, an  "Auto exposure time too low" error message is given by the detector, stopping the acquisition

ENVIRONMENT

• 2998 Photodiode Array Detector
• 2489 UV/Vis Detector

CAUSE

Flow cell contamination may be hindering the transmission of UV light.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Clean the system and the flow cell by following the steps below.

1. Remove the analytical column and install a union, so that flow passes through the detector flow cell.

2. To ensure that any buffer is purged from the system, prime all lines with 100% water, and flush the system at 0.5 mL/min for 60 minutes.

3. Prime all lines with a mix of methanol/acetonitrile/isopropanol/water (25:25:25:25) with 0.2% formic acid added, and then flush the system at 0.2 mL/min for a minimum of four hours.

4. Prime and flush all lines with 100% water, and flush the system at 0.5 mL/min for 15 minutes.
