SYMPTOMS
- FTN fails needle seal readiness test when using an extension loop.
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
- ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
CAUSE
Within the extension loop, there could be an acute decrease in pressure as the valve rotates between the load and inject positions. This causes a negative result on the needle seal readiness test.
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Remove the extension loop from the FTN before starting the needle seal readiness test.
- Update the volumes for the extension loop in the sample manager console.
