SYMPTOMS

• Alliance iS frit regularly blocks up:
  • After the GPV
  • Before the primary check valve
• Using buffered solutions
• System clears blockage with aqueous flushing

ENVIRONMENT

• Alliance iS HPLC System

CAUSE

Buffer salts precipitate in the frit when going from 100% buffer to 100% organic solution.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Change priming order to transition from buffer to water, instead of going straight to organic.
