How to bake a drift tube on an ACQUITY UPLC ELS or 2424 ELS detector - WKB293211

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Bake an ELSD drift tube.

ENVIRONMENT

• 2424 Evaporative Light Scattering Detector
• ACQUITY UPLC ELS Detector

PROCEDURE

1. Remove Column and attach a union
2. Flow 100% HPLC grade water through the system
3. Set the drift tube temperature to 100 °C.
4. Set gas flow to 50 psi.
5. "Bake" for at least one hour.
6. Set LC flow to zero.
7. Turn off temperature and let the gas flow for at least 30 minutes.
