OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Calibrate the rotary tray on an ACQUITY SM-FTN or SM-FL sample manager.

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY APC Sample Manager - FTN
• ACQUITY Arc Sample Manager FTN-R
• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle PLUS (SM-FTN PLUS)
• ACQUITY UPLC M-Class

PROCEDURE

To calibrate the rotary tray:

1. Enter service mode in the ACQUITY Console. From the troubleshooting menu, select "Service Mode" and enter the service mode password (see video).
2. In the Sample Manager section of the Console, select "Calibrate Rotary Tray" from the Maintain pull-down menu, and follow the Wizard prompts.
3. Remove plates and click Next.
4. Insert the long side of the calibration pin (part 405013532, usually located in the foam insulation of the Sample Manager door) in the calibration hole, manually adjust the rotary tray so the tray calibration hole and the calibration hole in the datum align. The pin should insert through the tray and into the Theta drive plate assembly underneath. Click Next. 
5. Wait for the calibration value to appear, and then click Finish. This stores the calibration data on the Sample Manager. Remove the pin and return it to the door. 
6. Disable service mode from the troubleshooting menu.
