How to calibrate the needle Z axis - WKB28509

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

Calibrate the needle Z axis.

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager (SM)
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
• ACQUITY Arc Sample Manager FTN-R
• ACQUITY UPLC M-Class uSM-FL

PROCEDURE

Tip: Refer to the diagnostics calibration video to help you complete this task.

1. Remove the trays and place a business card on the sample tray holder.
2. From the console, select Maintain > Calibrate needle Z axis.
3. In the Calibrate Needle Z Axis dialog box, click Start, and then click OK.
4. Use the +Z button to drive the needle down to within 1 mm of the tray holder surface.
5. Switch the displacement increment to 0.1 mm and lower the needle until it just barely touches the business card.
6. Click Save, and then Yes in the confirmation window.
