How to clean for passivation of metal tubing - WKB272307

Article number: 272307

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

  • Clean for passivation of metal tubing to reduce sample adsorption.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Alliance HPLC System
  • Arc HPLC System
  • ACQUITY UPLC
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class PLUS
  • ACQUITY UPLC I-Class
  • ACQUITY UPLC I-Class PLUS
  • ACQUITY Arc

PROCEDURE

After priming with 30% phosphoric acid in water at a flow rate of 1 mL/min for 250 minutes to passivate the LC system, start a flow at 1 mL/min with 1 L of LCMS-grade water overnight or for 12 hours or until the liquid runs out. Ensure that the solvent from the waste has a pH of 7.
(During the passivation step and subsequent cleaning, the column should be removed, and the tubing should be diverted to waste rather than attached to the LC-MS.)
