Instrument Failure in Empower or Breeze: Serial number uninitialized in Node Properties - WKB2696

SYMPTOMS

• Instrument Failure when trying to run system
• Battery is new
• Node Properties shows Serial number uninitialized for instrument status, status = no
• Duplicate entry of instrument found in Node Properties with correct serial number and status = yes
• "Not Connected" within Run Samples window of Empower

ENVIRONMENT

• Breeze 2
• Empower 3
• Waters Ethernet modules

CAUSE

Node Properties does not specify instrument serial number.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. In node properties, delete the line that says status = no,  Serial number uninitialized
2. Click on Scan Instruments
3. Ensure status of the instrument modules say status = Yes
4. Recreate system in software
5. Launch Run Samples to test
