Unstable pressure on ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager - WKB267555

SYMPTOMS

• Unstable pressure on the QSM
• Check valves, seals, and piston sonicated
• Dynamic leak test passes
• Pump ran as expected for about 10 to 15 minutes
• Pressure on primary pump dropped to 0 psi and accumulator pressure fluctuated greatly
• Sonicating i2V check valve resolves the issue

CAUSE

Faulty or dirty i2V check valve

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Sonicate the i2V check valve cartridge in 50:50 MeOH/water.
2. If issue returns, replace the i2V check valve cartridge.
