Calibrate R axis.

ENVIRONMENT

  • ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN)
  • ACQUITY Premier Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN)
  • Arc/Arc HPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle (SM-FTN)
  • ACQUITY UPLC I-Class Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle
  • ACQUITY UPLC I-Class Sample Manager - Fixed Loop
  • ACQUITY Premier Sample Manager - Fixed Loop
  • ACQUITY UPC2 Sample Manager

PROCEDURE

  1. Enter service mode in the ACQUITY Console. On the troubleshooting menu, select "Service Mode" and type the password (1147).
  2. In the Sample Manager section of the Console, choose the Maintain pull-down menu, select "Calibrate R-axis", and follow the Wizard prompts.
  3. Remove plates and click Next.
  4. Insert the short side of the calibration pin (part 405013532; usually located in the foam insulation in the Sample Manager door) in the calibration hole and click Next.          Image_2023-05-04_11-17-09.png  

    Calibration pin has a small target dimple in the top.

  5. Use the +Z button to drive the needle down to within 2-3 mm of the calibration pin hole on the top. Switch the displacement increment to 0.1 mm or 1 mm as required.
  6. Switch the displacement increment to 0.1 mm and move the needle along the R axis (+R or -R) to align the tip of the needle and the calibration pin hole.
  7. When the tip of the needle and the Calibration hole are aligned, press "Calibrate", and then press "Save".
  8. A warning message appears as a reminder to remove the calibration pin. Press OK. The calibration pin can be removed after the Sample Manager is reset.
  9. From the troubleshooting menu, disable service mode.
