What setting on a 2489 is equivalent to the 2487 defaults? - WKB257458
ENVIRONMENT
- 2487 Dual-Wavelength Absorbance Detector
- 2489 UV/Vis Detector
ANSWER
As part of the implementation of the higher data rates, the default methods for the 2489 UV/Visible detector have been designed so that the time values associated with the enumerated filter settings represent levels of filtering that are appropriate for the given data rates. This optimizes the limit of detection capability for chromatographic peaks. Generally, for normal filter settings, the associated time values are lower than the default for the 2487 Dual Absorbance detector and may yield slightly higher baseline noise than the 2487 under default conditions. Filtration levels equivalent to those of the 2487 for the purposes of direct method transfer can be obtained by selecting the "other" filter choice and specifying the values associated with the 2487 methods directly.
