SM-FTN system overpressure caused by blockage in Vespel seat or seat port tubing and/or needle - WKB257160
Article number: 257160
SYMPTOMS
- BSM/QSM: Overpressure error
- Overpressure caused by blockage in Vespel seat or seat port tubing and/or needle
- Sample fluidics high pressure limit
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY UPLC H-Class - FTN
- ACQUITY UPLC I-Class Sample Manager - FTN
- ACQUITY Arc SM-FTN-R
CAUSE
Blockage in Vespel seat or seat port tubing and/or needle
FIX or WORKAROUND
- Disconnect the needle or extension loop from the injection valve port 4 and the seat port tubing from injection valve port 1, and then connect those two fittings swapped.
- Using a suitable mobile phase, considering solubility if you suspect precipitate, start to flush the system at 0.1 mL/min. Increase the flow (up to 0.5 mL/min) if the system does not go into overpressure.
- Look for a significant drop in pressure, which could indicate that the blockage has cleared.
- Continue to backflush the Sample Manager-FTN fluidics for at least 15 minutes.
- Stop the flow.
- Reconnect the needle or extension loop to the injection valve port 4 and the seat port tubing to injection valve port 1.
- Set up the flow rate used in the work method and confirm that the pressure returns to normal values before starting the analysis.
