Sample injections stall when "Preparing for injection" in Empower - WKB256433

SYMPTOMS

• Sample set or single injection stalls when attempting to run
• "Preparing for injection" seen in bottom-right of window
• System configuration and components on instrument method match

ENVIRONMENT

• Empower 3 Workgroup
• Empower 3 Enterprise

CAUSE

WatersService is disabled.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Search for the "Services" application in Windows.
2. Scroll down to WatersService.
3. Select "Start" service.
4. Reboot the PC.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

WatersService is often disabled when trying to access the Tune page for mass spectrometers.
