SYMPTOMS
- Broadening and tailing peaks
- Fresh mobile phase, wash solvents, and column
- System is leak-free
ENVIRONMENT
- ACQUITY UPLC Column Heater
CAUSE
Void caused by damaged or incorrectly positioned PEEK ferrule on the column inlet tubing
FIX or WORKAROUND
Replace the PEEK ferrule (and collet if necessary) on the column inlet tubing. Ensure that the ferrule is about 3 mm away from the outlet tube and that the collet is touching the back of the ferrule (see Figure 1 in Additional Information).
