Sample manager leak sensor error message results from leak at head of column - WKB253660

SYMPTOMS

• Sample manager leak sensor error
• Solvent observed in leak sensor above the injection valve of the Sample Manager - FTN
• Solvent leak traced back to the head of the column

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - FTN
• ACQUITY UPLC Column Manager - Active

CAUSE

Active preheater is not seated correctly to the head of the column.

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Disconnect the active preheater from the column.
2. Verify that the ferrule does not look crushed or damaged. 
3. Slide the ferrule to within roughly 1 mm of the end of the tubing.
4. Reseat the the active preheater to the end of the column.
5. Hand-tighten snuggly but do not over-tighten.
