How to switch between Column Heater - Active (CH-A) and 30-cm Column Module (CH-30A) with no column switch box installed - WKB246608

OBJECTIVE or GOAL

 Switch between Column Heater - Active (CH-A) and 30-cm Column Module (CH-30A).

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Sample Manager - Flow Through Needle PLUS (SM-FTN PLUS)

PROCEDURE

1. Open the Console screen.
2. Select Sample Manager FTN from the tree on the left.
3. Select Column Manager Configuration from the Configure menu.
4. Select Column Module in Fluidics Configuration.
5. Select CH-A or CH30-A from the pull-down menu.

If you don't see the five options above, look at the rear of the sample manager and ensure that the CH-A and CH-30A interconnect cables are connected.

6. Power-off the SM-FTN.

7. Power-on the CH-30A.

8. Power-on the SM-FTN.

Note: To prevent damage to the column heater (CH-A or CH-30A), be sure to power-off the SM-FTN before connecting or disconnecting the interconnect cable.
Ensure that the SM-FTN is powered-off before connecting or disconnecting the column heater from the PSPI port.
