ACQUITY UPLC Dynamic Leak test fails: "Primary Pump unable to compress" - WKB243889

SYMPTOMS

• Pump able to prime with good flow
• When running Dynamic Leak test, the Primary starts to compress but fails to reach the set pressure (error code: unable to compress)
• When running Dynamic Leak test, the Primary fails to maintain the target pressure until the end of the Dynamic Leak test (error code: unable to maintain pressure)
• Check valves are new for both Accumulator and Primary pump heads

ENVIRONMENT

• ACQUITY UPLC Binary Solvent Manager (BSM)
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class Quaternary Solvent Manager (QSM)
• ACQUITY UPLC H-Class BSM
• ACQUITY UPLC I-Class BSM

CAUSE

Worn seals, rebuild pump head

FIX or WORKAROUND

1. Replace high pressure seal in pump head.
