Sample Wash = SNW (Strong needle wash)

• Pushes sample through the needle, injection tower, and dilution loop and loads the sample into the injection loop; wash in contact with sample
• Cleans the needle path, the dilution loop, and the injection valve

Diluent Wash Solvent = WNW (Weak needle wash)

• Dilutes the sample and cleans the dilution loop
• Requires miscibility with sample solvent; dilute the sample
• Minimal wash cycles needed

External Needle Wash Solvent Considerations:

• Clears excess sample from the injection tower
• Especially with the online injection mechanism, requires miscibility, solubility with the sample
