SYMPTOMS

CAUSE

Flow path/solvent lines dirty from from usage (different solvent and/or samples)

FIX or WORKAROUND

  1. Prepare Magic Mix (25% each of H2O; MeOH, ACN, IPA) and add up to 10% formic acid.
  2. Remove the column from the system.
  3. Prime the solvent manager and the needle wash with Magic Mix.
  4. Apply a flow of 0.5 mL/min and leave Magic Mix on the system overnight.
  5. Prime all lines to 100% H2O.
  6. Apply a flow of 0.5 mL/min for 30 minutes.
  7. Prepare new solvents and set up your system as needed.
  8. Check the baseline.
