String error and SM error in console - WKB225989

SYMPTOMS

• String error and then SM error appear in console following reset
• Column temperature is missing from the SM console page

ENVIRONMENT

• Classic ACQUITY 
• Empower

CAUSE

A shortcut was used to open the Console before opening Empower. If the console is opened from the Run Samples window in Empower, no fault is seen and the Console opens and works correctly. When the console is opened before Empower using the shortcut, errors occur.

FIX or WORKAROUND

Remove the pinned shortcut from the taskbar and open the console through Empower.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The shortcut previously worked OK, but for some reason started to fail.
